A brand new ferry service has been launched between the Canary Islands and Madeira and is something of a landmark figure as it is the first ever passenger ship to connect two busy tourist areas.
This new service will run between July and September and boasts 56 cabins and is able to carry 1,000 passengers and 600 vehicles.
Ticket prices ar reasonable with a one way trip to Madeira costing around €82,00, cars cost €110,00 and the price of a cabin will set you back from €164,00. To while away the 21 hour crossing passengers will be able to eat from a hot buffet, swim in the pool, enjoy the on-board disco or watch the entertainment.
Ferry crossings leave Portimâo, Portugal, every Sunday, you will arrive in Funchal, Madeira on Monday and Santa Cruz, Tenerife, and Las Palmas, Gran Canaria on Tuesday. The return crossing to the Algarve will take place on Fridays from the Canary Islands and on Saturdays from Madeira. It is hoped that 4,000 passengers will be ferried on this route this year alone.

Research has suggested that the Canary Islands are increasingly popular with overseas property investors and buy to let properties are doing incredibly well, as a result, popularity amongst property investors has soared.
Palm Mar in Tenerife is amongst the top ten for investment opportunities followed by Caleta de Fuste in Fuerteventura. Costa Teguise in Lanzarote is also highly rated and appears in the top 70 most sought after locations.
One of the reasons that the Canary Islands are so popular is that the weather is constant all year round, not ridiculously hot, but very warm and tourism is on the increase.
The downside of this is that properties in Tenerife tend to be higher than some of the new emerging markets but the Canary Islands have a reputation as a holiday resort so making the Islands much easier to market and holiday rentals are very popular.
