International Surfing Day has been running for six years and is designed to encourage new people to discover the joys of surfing and educate the public about their environment. This year, for the first time, Europe has joined up with the United States for the event, scheduled for Sunday, June 21st 2009.
Organised jointly by European Boardsports Industry Manufacturers Association (EuroSIMA) and the Suropean Surfing Federation (ESF) the event has hosted over 1,100 events with around 42,000 participants over the past five years, the International Surfing Day was born to unite members of the surfing world and encourage new members.
Events have been organised around the world, in the Canary Islands, you need to get yourself over to Club Lub de Surf Oleaje, Playa San Andreas, Arucas in Gran Canaria. You can email them direct at
