Having proudly taken possession of your new overseas home, probably the last thing on your mind will be “what will happen to it when I die”

You may hear all kind of nightmare rumours that if you don’t make a Spanish Will the authorities will claim everything. This is pure myth, but the truth is that relying on your English Will or intestate law (if there is no will) could create a bureaucratic headache. An English Will would have to be brought into Spain, be legalised, translated and interpreted.
