Every year the Tenerife Entertainment Awards encourages hot debate by just about everyone on the Island of Tenerife, and this year is sure to be no exception.

Scheduled to take place on Sunday 23rd of May 2010 at The Exit Palace in Adeje. Oasis FM, the official broadcast partner,  are promising that it will be a show to remember.

Categories for this year are as follows:

1. BEST MALE SINGER.
Classification: male solo singer, not a resident or compere in a venue.
2. BEST FEMALE SINGER.
Classification: female solo singer, not a resident or compere in a venue.
3. BEST TRIBUTE ACT.
Classification: act of one or more members, not a resident or compere in a
4. BEST BAND.
Classification: two or more members with instruments. Can be resident in a venue.
5. BEST GROUP/DUO.
Classification: two or more members without instruments can be resident in a venue.
6. BEST COMPERE.
Classification: one person who is resident in a bar, karaoke bar, cabaret bar or hotel, that hosts the evening with or without instruments.
7. BEST VARIETY ACT.
Classification: a variety show act such as dancers, drag artists, mime artists, hypnotist, magic show, comedian, etc.
8. BEST RADIO DJ.
Classification: any Tenerife based presenter on-air on an British station with studios based in Tenerife.
9. BEST CLUB DJ.
Classification: any Tenerife based DJ in a club or fun pub.
Category is being decided by the reps of the major UK tour operators.
A new category for 2010!
10. BEST NEWCOMER.
Classification: any new act for any category within the last 12 months.
11. OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION.
Classification: Award presented to an artist or individual who has made a difference to the entertainment scene over and above their job or show.

Last years winners included Billy Idol, Karen Kennedy Joe Ferguson and, Bitter and Twisted, so ther will be stiff competition from entrants this year.
